Considering that the DX-302 has a built-in manually tuned preselector using another preselelector at the antenna input may not provide any improvement at all. Just connect it directly and that is all that is needed.

DX302, which is the better poor choice over DX300, has more
sensitivity that actually can be used, with sufficient antenna. And, it
is a significantly effective preselector. As long as you don't overload
the front end with too much antenna, an antenna tuner is would be
gilding a wilted lily. Hook your antenna up to the receiver directly and
enjoy the ever thinning bands.

That said, if you have limited space for an antenna, or are running
something like an MTA, and need the gain, or you're determined to run an
ATU...and if you have one, why wouldn't you be...then put your wire
antenna into Antenna A input, and connect the E terminal to an earth
ground, such as a cold water pipe (May not apply in newer homes....a
ground rod and a 4" copper strap to the ground rod will do a very good
job).

If you're using an antenna with a coaxial transmission line, hook
that to the PL-259 connector, through the appropriate adapter, if
necessary.

Since this device will support more than one antenna, you may connect
one of each, or two wire antennae and select from them at the front end.
