There is a 'thing' about Greenland and Iceland that I once read about sixty years ago. It used to be that some people wanted most people to think Greenland was warmer and greener than Iceland and Iceland is always cold and covered with ice.

Ever see that Andy Griffith episode where some Gypsies come to Mayberry
and make some amazing weather predictions? Turns out, they were
listening to long range weather forecasts on SHORTWAVE RADIO from
GREENLAND! Back when I was a kid, I actually thought such nonsense was
possible.

I think the Gypsies were listening in with a Hallicrafters SX110 or
something like that. Seems like alot of Hallicrafters radios popped up
on TV shows during the 50s and 60s. On Gilligan's Island, the radio the
sleepwalking skipper turned into a transmitter was a repainted S40B.
Saw an early Dragnet episode in which there was a S38 stacked atop a S40
for whatever Hollywood reason. For years, I kept my similiar radios
stacked in the same way, in honor of Jack Webb.
