I saw a 'retro-mercial' for Slinky on 'TV-Land'. It was one of the
original Slinky commercials with the song 'everyone loves a Slinky'. I
recall the first ones were made with a silver metal but I had one that
was copper colored (plated?).

JS,

On a recent trip to Toys-R-Us they had some near the check out axiles
for about $3. They were about the size of the smaller Slinky JR's,
but they were not being sold under the Slinky Brand Name. Instead
that were labeled "Metal Spring Toy" (Made in China).

They work because they are made of metal. :-)

Well, yeah. But so's a hundrded feet of stretched out wire.
And when you can attach an antenna wire to a Slinky, hang it
out a window, and get BETTER reception than the hundred feet
of wire...

Wassa Slinky????

You know you're getting old when the younger generation has never heard
of a slinky. :-)

I love to have a few copperclad slinkys, if they exist?!

If you really want them get a couple of metal slinkys and take them to
a chrome plating shop. Shouldn't cost too much.

Boycott anything made in France and vacation somewhere else.

BP,

Never seen a "Copper Clad" Slinky but a Google search for 'brass
slinky' will provide several good URL/Links for "Solid Brass Slinkys"
and Gold Plated Slinkys.

Here are three a sample URL/Links with both Brass and Gold are listed.

Don't Slink around -- put up a real antenna. Tell neighbors it is a burglar
alarm.
