Judah again WTB Kenwood QR-666 or R-300

Any one have one of these in good shape sitting around there shack,
and would love to sell at a resonable price to a highly excitable,
young, mildly cheap skate SW listener like myself. I love playing
with old analog table tops. I currently own a DX-160, and FRG-7 which
I love. And a Grundig YB400, I use for digital reference. Anyone
wouldn't mind parting with one of these ancients, let me know.

Judah: I picked up a KW R 300 a few years back and I hated it. The
audio was harsh and tiring and I could never get past that. It didn't
improve much with an outboard speaker. I was very glad to get rid of
it.
Your FRG 7 is a really nice radio to toy around with . I don't
know about the R 666 but don't get your hopes too high on the R 300.

I appreciate the suggestion....but I sort of like (inexpensive) older
analog table top radios. And I thought this one might be fun to play
with. My shack (I use the term loosely...it's more like my bedside
table) Has a FRG-7, Realistic DX-160, and a Grundig YB-400. I have
fun with all three radios....and am just looking for another oldie to
add in. But I guess no one has one of these. They are both the same
radio as I understand it. One just has an updated faceplate.

Judah: Definitly go for it if a cheap one shows up. It is a good way
to get to know what you like and what you don't. I went through that
phase and I guess I still am in it to a certain extent.
One interesting, to me anyway, observation on the Sangean 909. I
have one of the Radio Shack labelled unit and a Sangean 808a which has
no sideband and only a few memories. It turns out that I really like
the 808a better than the 909 because it suits my style of operation
better.

I found a Kenwood R-300, $75 plus shipping. It is beautiful. Mint
condition....and I love it. A humorous review to follow
later....thanks every one...
