Default Road Testing $9.95 Bell & Howell SWR

Bought this little gaget from WWW.Drleonard.com,
took the cheap delivery mode, showed up in 2 days.

First, Its really cute !! Very Small, Gold, Lots of switched & buttons.

Picks up very little DX on the whip BUT if hooked up to a 40 foot antenna
IT PICKS UP EVERYTHING ! ! !

( well, almost. Can't get 12.095 BBC via Ascension Island yet)
Picked up some Bible Thumper on 7.495, local TV,
FM ( Very good sound quality on Heaphones.)

This set is also blessed in that it can pick up All Sorts of interference
around the house.
Tuning isnt very accurate, ( $9.95 ?? ) But you can pick up all sorts of
stuff right away !!
Very good for doing coarse searches, then refining it on a more
selective set.

Currently Listening to Glen Hauser 0n 7.495 speaking about RFPI

One final note:

If you are wearing headphones and just touch an external antenna,
the signal
is transferred from, say your foot
up to your skull
out through your ears
down through the headphones
and into the radio, boosting the signal

No, I haven't tried an aluminum foil hat as an Antenna-

Waiting for my Wife to get home first..

:-)

Dan
