Is it just me, or is Passport really off on their times? Since many shortwave broadcasters change their schedules up to four times a year, a book which is published annually can not be expected to have accurate program schedules for the entire year. That's the role of monthly shortwave magazines and the Internet. It's more than that. Radio Exterior Espana changed both their summer and winter broadcast frequencies and at the same time cut back English broadcasts from three to one hour per day. However, three years later Passport is still posting the same times and frequencies. Ditto, many of the BBC broadcasts that were cancelled over a year ago are still published. I can undeerstand if they miss a few small stations that are not readily listenable in our area of the world, but we are talking about major broadcasts here. Dissapointed, you bet, I won't buy another Passport unless I can review it to verify they really have made at least an attempt to be up to date. Did you inform them of the errors so they could be corrected? -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 80,000 Newsgroups - 16 Different Servers! =----- |

I suggest you have look at the hard-core-dx or dxing.info or G.Hauser -sites for updates of different schedules. Also ILG-Radio has more accurate information (needs a password). No list is really up-to-date, but reading actively the dx-sites gives you better knowledge. Passport and WRTH are a very good base on which I can "build" my updates. Matti Ponkamo, Naantali, Finland I got A03 off Glenn Hauser's site worldofradio.com. It's 183 pages in Word-I don't think I'll be able to print it out on my crappy little home printer. |
