QUOTES from "CJ":

"Good reception is very easy if you have the right tools... mostly
knowledge"

"The selection of a quality receiver is important. But the antenna and
listening location is most important. A good AM or shortwave antenna,
in the right location can solve your problem and make your listening
much more pleasant."

"Once you remove the source of your noise, your receiver's true
potential "Sensitivity" can be recognized."

TBL: Three Keys to Quality Reception:
+ A good Radio
+ + A good Antenna
+ + + Plus good Noise Reduction

4. Might add Good Propagation
AM DXing is much better in Winter than Summer AAGR (as a general rule)
HF DXing on upper SWL Bands depends on Solar conditions, seasons etc.

And that is #4 -- Knowing whether a desired station is on the air.
