![]() The U.S. ... is, however, urging vigilance in the run-up to Thursday's second anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The FBI says Mr. Jdey left a suicide note pledging to give up his life waging war on non-Muslims. Mr. Jdey is considered "armed and dangerous" and is one of several men who left suicide video messages at the Afghanistan home of Mohammed Atef, Osama bin Laden's top military lieutenant, who was killed in a U.S. air strike. http://canada.com/national/story.asp...E-4AA1E80513CC - What was that famous line from that old Horror Movie.. |

Has it occured to anyone else that it makes *much* more sense to police our
borders rather than try to do the equivalent at any important location *inside* the border? I can just imagine how much security there probably is at the statue of liberty, or the white house, or pentagon, or gas diffusion plants, etc, etc, but yet very little border security. It boggles my mind. What is wrong with this picture??? Rather than catch them at the border, we'll just try to catch them at many, many thousands of possible targets sites.....INSANE!!!!!!! Clete |

Policing ANY of our borders in totality would be next to impossible. I
suspect that to have any meaningful "total policing" of all our borders, the Federal government would have to employ a very high percentage of the total adult population... unless you want to build a 50' wall around the entire country.. ![]() "Brian Denley" wrote in message news:t_w6b.380800$uu5.71387@sccrnsc04... Ever looked through a FLIR scope?
It's quite possible. 73, Steve "Brian Denley" wrote in message news:t_w6b.380800$uu5.71387@sccrnsc04... | Ever been to Niagra Falls? A fifty foot wall?
Perhaps a one - hundred foot wall! Now, *that* would be a public works project worthy of funding! Hey, we've got to put the unemployed to work, and since so many of their jobs are being exported to Mexicali or Bombay, that would fill the gap for some time. 73, Steve Lawrence Burnsville, MN "Brenda Ann" wrote in message ... | Policing ANY of our borders in totality would be next to impossible. Thank You!
I like the "there's nothing we can do about it" crowd. Just let them flow in (the southern border), get drivers licenses, voter cards, health insurance, the works, 'cause "there's nothing we can do about it"! Slowly but inexorably the illegals are tilting American politics in favor of more illegals, more benefits for people that don't work (yes yes, for the anal, there are American people that don't work also), diminution of the civil penalties that they incur for various traffic and criminal violations (after all, they are illegal), and Constitutional Rights for people that shouldn't even be here. Pregnant illegal Mexicans make their way to deposit their young on American soil, thereby creating new American Citizens. This in itself is a farce. The law should be revised so that people that are here "legally" that have children will see those children become American Citizens, but this illegal stuff is ridiculous. Anyway, California will be one of the test cases, as they spiral into destruction, insuring the rights of this group and that, one has to wonder where the money will come from. If the illegals don't contribute, those that are there and working will need to pick up the slack. Probably when the average Californian is state income taxed at the rate of 60% of their wage will they realize that something is wrong and needs corrected. Regards In article . net, "Stephen M.H. A bill signed by Governor Davis has just solved the problem of illegal aliens in California. Illegals can now get a drivers license and with that documentation can even vote. Lets see now - if I was an al Qaeda operative how would I try to stealthy get into the USA? Hmmm.... -- Telamon Ventura, California |

Steve:
I make FLIR scopes for a living - high performance military ones. They wont help the problem of tens of thousands of people crossing at that point every day. I did it myself a month ago. All I needed was a drivers license. It's a needle-in-a-haystack problem. -- Brian Denley http://home.comcast.net/~b.denley/index.html "Stephen M.H. Lawrence" wrote in message ink.net...
