Antenna's for a Icom PCR 1000...

I am looking for a better antenna for my Icom PCR1000. Anyone have an
idea where I can find something better than the stock indoor antenna
that Icom ships with the PCR1000?

Thanks
Charly

i use an outdoor discone (radio shack) for the upper frequencies. works pretty
good.

aerial and a Discone for wide VHF/UHF coverage."

Therefore consider using two Antennas to get the most out of your Icom
IC-PCR-1000 Radio-Scanner:

1. A 'basic' MW/SW (HF) Random Wire Antenna for 500 kHz to 30 MHz

2. A 'specilized' VHF and UHF Antenna for everything above 25 MHz

antenna for VHF and UHF and let me say, I wish I would have done it
long ago! The Channel Master CM #5094 scanner antenna makes the Radio
Shack discone look bad. First of all, there is no single antenna that
will cover every band the best, but this antenna has been the closest
thing so far. My discone was great for everything above 100MHz but it
was very bad below 100mhz. The Channel Master is fantastic from HF all
the way to 1GHz."

CW,

Here is another option the "Wideband SWL/Scan Antenna" offered by
Scanner-Master. This is a 'combination' SWL and Scanner Antenna that
covers 500kHz to 1500MHz, and it measures only 42" (1.07m) high.

I use one of these. It is good for the upper freqs and also prevents any
overloading of the PCR-1000 on the lower freqs.
