Sending someone a scanner or shortwave radio might make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but unless the solider in question spoke the enemy's language, I think it would only be useful to hear what the BBC says s. During those infrequent stretches when the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines have a little free time, they might find Radio Farda or Radio Sawa fun to listen to.
