R-75 Wiith Audio Equalizer?

Would an R-75 without mods benefit with
an external audio equalizer? Wondering if
the equalizer would be a decent poor
man's filter?

My x 394 benefits from the use of some old Sony boombox speakers. I don't
use the 3 band equaliser on my component stereo, even though I could,
because the electronics in it produces interference. It does not contribute
much to begin with.

Answers YES; I have a Koss 3 band EQ-50 hooked up to headphone jack of R-75
- Makes it that much better !

With certain i.f. configurations, the R-75s dual pass band tuning controls are
effectively neutralized. So adding that audio e.q. is a necessary remedy under
certain reception conditions.

I much prefer an outboard DSP to an equalizer.

If you do use an equalizer, try for a parametric, instead of a
graphic. They are vastly superior.

If you have a computer nearby that doesn't throw RF across the radio, I HIGHLY
suggest the SR5 audio DSP software.

IT ROCKS !
