Wither beloved "Ecos del Torbes"?

I have an adequate listener's setup - not terrific by any means, but
adequate - and through 2000-2001 I could get an acceptably listenable
signal on Ecos de Torbes - my favorite station - almost any night from
mid-September on.
Because of many changing circumstances in my life (all good, though), I
did very little SWL in 2002. Now, I get nothing but a hash of three or
four
stations on that frequency up until 0400UTC (their sign-off). Is this
partly atmosspheric, or is the overuse of that frequency by other
broadcasters (most of whom sound like crackpots, and ALL of whom are not
accounted for in the ILG logs, hence not legitimate, likely), or will
things improve on into the winter? Thoughts?

Tony

Ecos del Torbes is currently inactive. Perhaps they will return one day.

I used to enjoy Radio Rumbos too, but they are extinct as well, as far as I
know. I don't recall their old frequency anymore. Does anybody remember what
frequency they used to use ?

Thank you for the reply, N8KVD. I suspected that, but was "whistling
past the graveyard". I know that station comes and goes over time, and
the recent political turmoil in Venezuela couldn't have helped any.

4980 is/was Ecos, for as long as I can remember. I have read - never
logged - that Ecos is/was also on 9640 from 12:00-23:00 UTC, but they'd
be buried by DV a lot there.

They use to be on 4990 and Ecos Torbes on 4980.
Also I have heard Radio Rumbos on 1220 , though it is hard to get with XEB on
the frequency.
The other morning I was not able to sleep and Ecos del Torbes was on with
educational type programs on 4980.

If you are indeed hearing Ecos del Torbes, I suggest you get a message off to
Glenn Hauser informing him of this. His email is

No one else seems to be hearing or reporting Ecos del Torbes.

Radio Rumbos use to come in quite clear in the late 1970s to mid-1980s
on 9,660 kHaz always early in the morning. That frequency was better
that 4980 kHz.
