Antarctic

Are there any frequencies for listening to the scientists in the Antarctic?
Summer is starting there and I thought there may be activity.

You might try some of the frequencies on this page:

However, in some recent emails with the owner of the page he indicated that a
lot of the activity seems to have gone to satellite telephone.

a few scientist from the ukraine were real active on the 27mghz freeband this
last cycle. go buy you a export cb radio radio and a decent home base antenna
and you could have talked to them directly like i did and probably still can
amung many other interesting places you'd never expect. look at this site here
and it will show you all about the freeband pirate radio activity from
antartica. http://www.antarctida.kiev.ua/140ura/ now mind you, the hams will be
tied in knots and very upset about all of this but pay them know attention.
slw'ing it it all is perfectly legal.
