Radio Netherlands.......

Could have sworn I posted this a couple days ago, but have been having
problems with the OE reader.

Can some kind soul give the address to send a verification report to the
'Radio Netherlands' (engish broadcast from Holland) on 15.220 from last
Saturday. I want to qsl them.

'Please' make sure it is the correct address for the English reports, I
don't have access to my adresses for about another week.

Thank you much. :-)

Thanks Steve. Snail I imagine. I've never done the email thing, do you
just send them a regular verification like you would through the regular
mail except via email and they send you the 'regular' qsl and pennants and
such. {?}

I know 'Netherlands' is known for their 'kindness' of things they send you
for a correct report. If a snail mail is the only way for that, then
that's what I'd prefer.

*Thanks Steve :-)

Yeah, I suppose it got a carriage return - line feed put in at the wrap at
the end of the line. It can be fixed if you copy the lower part (in black),
and insert it back after you click on the link and the page loads to the
error page.

Nederland is the original Dutch spelling of Netherlands.

And some RN "purists" consider 11.730 as the "original" or "traditional"
RN frequency!

The Dutch national anthem is my favorite of all countries. They play it
at the end of each Dutch language program transmission.

I thought I was the only one. I tune in especially at 0423 on 9590 to hear
it. Until I started looking up information about it I didn't know it was
the oldest currently-used anthem in Europe (dating from the sixteenth
century). The switch from 3/4 to 4/4 time is nifty too.

When did that happen, do you recall? The current bells sound (to my ears
anyway) the same as the ones used in 1998 and 1978. The 1978 recording at
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~RP4N-KWM...nd2/index.html seems to
suggest a slightly different key or pitch.

When did R. Netherlands abandon the short martial music intro that followed
the carillon? It's present in the 1978 recording and I remember it from the
mid-sixties but I can't recall when it disappeared.

I remember the pre-1978 recording, that was the one I was referring to.

If it ain't broke---don't fix it!!
