Baseball Playoffs in the Smokey Mountains
Hi All!
I'm a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and now I'm stuck. Months ago I scheduled a fishing/camping trip for the Smokey mountains that will start this week. I'll be camping in a mountain meadow and the only think I'll be able to pick up is shortwave broadcasts. Does anyone know of an English language station that will be broadcasting the World Series? I have a 30 year old shortwave radio and lots of room to string up an antenna? Thanks a bunch! |

You should be able to pick up the night games directly from Chicago, albeit with some fading. I'd be pretty much certain you'll find the day games on a nearby AM (or even FM) station. Unfortunately a search on the MLB site only returns their own webcast. -- Doug Smith W9WI Pleasant View (Nashville), TN EM66 http://www.w9wi.com |

These transmissions are all in SSB: http://myafn.dodmedia.osd.mil/radio/shortwave/ I was listening last night to 7.507 with a good signal. Frank Dresser |
