Help with Sony srf-m40w

Hi,

I have a Sony srf-m40w with really awful FM reception. I cannot recieve the output from my C. Crane (Sangean) FT-007. Every other tuner in the house has no problem hearing the transmitter.

I have seen references on the web to a known fault in this receiver that leads to weak FM reception. Does anyone out there have any advice or know of the problem referred to?

Thanks,

-M-

Maybe a blown front end FET?

What kind of headphones do you use ?
(A wire for headphones is working like an FM antenna )
