RFPI seige
James Latham was just now speaking on RFPI. He says the University for
Peace has turned off the water and cut the phone lines. I'm still not quite sure why James Latham is claiming why censorship is the motivation for the eviction. He has suggested that the new University administration doesn't like the anti-NAFTA/WTO slant of some of the programming, but he also seems to be saying the University isn't offering any clear justification. He's putting the blame for the changes at the University squarely on Maurice Strong. It's ironic that the biggest threat to RFPI is a billionaire Globalist Socialist -- and not someone from the Vast Right Wing. Frank Dresser |

Frank Dresser Indeed, having been in the San Francisco radical movement when I was younger (mid 1990s), I can tell you that the different factions of "people's liberators" mostly argue among themselves as to correctness of ideology instead of attacking the Evil Capitalist Scum (tm). It's like Afghanistan without the guns. The common joke is that the "socialist movement" is really the "socialist standstill". :) |

Michael James Latham said the water and phones were cut off today. Frank Dresser They were cut off by the local Utility Company for non-payment of their bill. Electric is likely next in line for a cutoff. The present situation is not due to anything "political" related. It's all lack of funding. |

It's like Afghanistan without the guns. The common joke is that the "socialist movement" is really the "socialist standstill". :) Well, arguements among socialists aren't always public. I can't count how many times I've heard someone on RFPI refer to the Rodney King beating. Would King have been better off if he had been beaten by the cops in Havana? Of course not. But the actions of Castro's brutal regime have been almost immune from RFPI critisism. Robber Barons and Socialist Globalists are both monopolists. It's money and power, not correct ideology. It's remarkable that Alex Jones understands this better than James Latham. Frank Dresser |

James Latham is asking for money, but he's talking about lawyers and not about settleing bills. Frank Dresser |

The gates were locked by the University for Peace in late July. James Latham is using terms like "censorship". He's putting the blame on Maurice Strong. Latham is asking for lawyer money. To listen to him, it's political. Frank Dresser |

Now, what was the name of that tele-vangelist who implored his listeners to ante up or else the "Lord would call him home..."? -=jd=- -- My Current Disposable Email: (Remove YOUR HAT to reply directly) Don't know. The locked gates and shut down utilities are evidence of the dispute, but otherwise I just have James Latham's version of what's happening. Sometimes he says the University isn't offering any reason why they want RFPI out. Sometimes he says it's censorship. The televangelist was Oral Roberts. Not only didn't Oral get the all the money he asked for, but he didn't get called back, either. It must have been an unpleasant revelation for poor 'ol Oral to realize that God might not have been taking him seriously enough. Frank Dresser |
Actually, that was Oral Robert's ploy to complete the "City of Faith"
hospital on the campus of Oral Roberts University. It was completed (however a lot of floors were vacant last I heard). In other news, the new Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire has now approved Oral Roberts between consenting adults. Tee hee. -- Stinger "Frank Dresser" wrote in message ... FD,
Sounds like the University for Peace (UfP) was sponsoring/underwriting Raddio for Peace International (RFPI). * The realtionship changed with a change in the administration of UfP. - RFPI is NOT part of the UfP. - - RFPI is Independent of the UfP. - - - RFPI must be Self-Supporting. * RFPI then had to be Self-Supporting and Pay their Own Bills. * RFPI has NOT been Paying their Own Bills. - Staff Salary and Supplies. - - Electricity, Water and Utilities. - - - Rent to the UfP for the 'use' of their Land and Space. * RFPI is being Closed Down because it has NOT Paid Its Bills. RFPI Problem is NOT about Ideology its about "Responsibility". - - - Good Management 'committed to' an Independent and Self-Supporting RFPI. That makes real world sense, but it isn't what James Latham is saying. It's a seige. It's censorship. He needs money for lawyers. Maurice Strong might be a Socialist, but he's the bad kind of Socialist. James Latham has been on the air a couple of times but he's been saying that University is throwing them out without offering a reason. He makes dark suggestions concerning the value of the property that RFPI sits on and how the new administration has invited people from the School of the Americas over to the University for Peace. Of course, there's a fine tradition of SW broadcasters gabbin' up some bill payin' money. If so, I'll suggest he drop the censorship rhetoric and go right for the recent Apocolyptic Solar Discombobulations caused by Planet X. Frank Dresser |
