Sarah Klein wrote: I've been hearing a station in Arabic here for the last week, around 03-04+UTC, increasing in strength since last Tuesday. Reference books list this frequency and time as Radio Omdurman, Sudan. I've listened repeatedly for mentions of "Huna Omdurman" "Sudan" and the like but have not been able to hear anything close to an ID. Most songs are by female vocalists, with long Q & A -type discussions the majority of programming. Has anyone gotten a complete ID for this? Are there specific times in the 03-04 range when ID's have been heard? Sudan would be a new country for me so I welcome information on this. By the way, my rx is a JRC NRD-515 with indoor longwire. Thanks and 73's Kevin Klein Neenah, Wisconsin More than likely either Egypt or the VOA during that time frame. The info I have currently shows Sudan on the freq. at *0400. If the VOA, check the // 's 9435 and 17855 during that time frame. (The VOA uses 7200 until 0500 currently, then used apparently by Deutsche Welle at 0500). 7200 is a busy frequency! It may take waiting for another season until someone vacates the freq. and leaves an open period where Sudan can be heard. Good luck.
