historical VIBROPLEX Bug Morse Code Key

Looks like the DAH knob was removed by the operator. Remembering back,
a good number of the old timers would remove that knob. Guess they
didn't like the feel. I'm talking about the OT hams, not land line
op's.

The price seems resonable. That was the deluxe model. I notice the "dah" knob
is missing. The operator probably removed it for personal reasons. The paddle
is on the opposite side, too. I wonder if the op was left-handed?

That one was made in the early 1950s, though. I got mine in about 1951 and its
s/n is 174073.

If a document came with it, certifying the mentioned history, it could be worth
much more.

I wonder if an FCC property tag is on the underside? But it was probably the
personal property of the op.

I left on the dah knob on my bug. I found it easier to key like a straight key,
when I needed to go slow and one of my straight keys wasn't connected.

Besides the usual weights, I have an over-sized weight for use in slow-sending,
too. It works better than a wrap of solder. G
