Iranian earthquake
Has anybody heard VOIRI's slant on the earthquake that leveled entire
cities in southern Iran? I haven't been able to get them in on 6120 at all, and I thought I heard them on 9580 last night but I couldn't get anything intelligible. (At least those are the freqs Passport lists for the 0030 tx to NAm.) |

Has anybody heard VOIRI's.... I haven't heard anything from them, and I've been trying those frequencies too. The schedule for English language broadcasts is at http://www.irib.ir/worldservice/engl...IO/default.htm Schedules for transmissions in other languages can easily be found elsewhere on that website. |

I can't get them on shortwave, and when I try listening to their english internet transmission via streaming audio all I get is silence. I think they're off the air... Don't know if their webpage is up or not. FW It turns out that what I heard on 9580 was a BBC tx to Asia. I suspect that getting parts for those old Soviet made transmitters is kinda difficult nowadays, although Voice of Russia seems to manage ok. |
I listened to a VOIRI webcast a couple of weeks ago and was amazed at
how well it came thru this dial-up. The only trick was you had to listen at the time of the radio broadcast. http://www.irib.ir/worldservice/engl...IO/default.htm On 31 Dec 2003 04:50:23 GMT, (Frank White) wrote: In article , says...
