How do I tune in on radio Australia. I saw a post by KB that said S-9. what
does that mean?

He was refering to the indication on the S meter (signal strength) on his
receiver.

Here's a quick ditty about S meters:

http://ac3l.com/smeter.htm

Your best bet to hear Australia is during our mornings here in NA. Check 9580
before 1400 UTC, and 9590 UTC after 1400.

Other times are possible also.

You will find here a list of frequencies you can tune to for Radio
Australia.

This site, http://ac3l.com/smeter.htm, as mentioned by Steve Holland,
MI, will provide you with basic information about reading or how to
read an S-Meter.

An S-Meter is to a radio as a speedometer is to a motor vehilce, so to
speak.
