Hoagland finds old Chevy Vega car parts on Mars !!

Frank Dresser wrote:

Hoagland doesn't know the half of it. The entire planet is made out of
Chevy Vegas, which explains why Mars consists of little but rust.

I thought they were Datsun-1200's. I never saw a car disintegrate like
that one. The front shock towers would collapse until the tires were
rubbing on the inside of the wheel wells. If you tried to weld what was
left of the sheet metal, it would vaporize in a puff of smoke. All of
this was because the Japanese experimented with recycled steel by
laminating (compressing) it into new sheet metal. The problem was they
didn't get the trapped air and water out of the layers with the
compressing process. The cars literally rusted from the inside out.

This radical Datsun 1200 theory conflicts with the now well established
theory of Vega Martiian origins. Let's conider the familiar Martian
monument to the greatest egotistical phoney in the universe. While it
has been long assumed the face at Cydonia is an image of Richard C.
Hoagland, my studies have revealed it is actually a monument to the
father of the Vega, John Z. Delorean. This fact can be confirmed by
anyone who can make out the inscription on the base of the monument --
"There is no ice on the Martian snowcaps".

Hoagland is not a scientist, he does not do science.

Hoagland is a performance artist. He does what he does as part of an
act that pays him enough so as to avoid real work.

To the best of my knowledge Hoagland has never held a job in the
traditional sense of the word, I seriously doubt he is employable at all.

He was a science advisor to Walter Cronkite in the 60's and apparently
the curator of a science museum. I wonder what kind of nonsense he fed
Cronkite in those days?

I missed that, thankfully.

Hoaxie manages to sound like a scientist, while actually knowing next to
nothing about science or engineering. This the only people who swallow
his act know even less. I strongly suspect the calls were instigated by
Hoaxie. After all, Snorrey is his free ad budget. He could not afford
to buy that much air time, it would mangle the profit picture something
terrible.

Snorrey----how aptly named! Art Bell is a nutcase collector but has a great
personality. And sometimes he even questions the outre assertions of his
guests! Snorrey is bland as a dry pancake and is also like one in that he
invariably lies down and lets the nutcases walk right over him. "Gee, no
kidding! You must be right", or the equivalent is his eternal refrain. He
can't even handle open-line calls from the great unwashed, by far the most
interesting stuff on Coast to Coast, well.

Sadly, shortly after I got my Versacorder, Art left.

And what else is there to listen to on US AM, after all? I don't enjoy
hearing right-wing host work themselves into near-frenzies over the
monstrosities committed by liberals. What ever happened to the fairness
rule, anyway?

How sad: to love listening to radio and to live in the US!

Leonard

I kisten to BBC. Of course they are about as leftist as NPR, but where
else would you get such earthshaking news like "Chad beats Sri Lanka in
cricket."

Snorrey is just an idiot, so he panders to idiots. That is all he knows
how to do.

Bell pandered to idiots too, remember the Hale-Bopp mess? The
difference betwen Bell and Snorrey is simple: Bell managed to be
modestly entertaining in small doses. Snorrey is not entertaining at
all.

Give it a try, see how far you get.

Worse than Jim Rome? shudder!

Dunno, never heard Jim Rome. Sorry.

Sports talk radio, one very, very small step up from infomercials.

Wait a second! I have heard him, and you are right, TERRIBLE radio.

Seen his TV show? You think he *sounds* stuck on himself...

As compared to you people wasting bandwidth with persistent and
repetitious insults about him etc.

Oh, I die of shame!

Rest in peace.

His radio show was so bad I completely blocked it from my memory, I
can't imagine having to look at him too.

Or is it just me!?

If (at it seems) he is such a waste of time, why refer to him at

all,
surely it would be better to simply ignore any references to him
altogether?

Or, could it be, you people are bored?

So you do not know who or what we are talking about, yet you feel
compelled to offer your opinion.

In the post above I offered no opinion. I asked questions.

Typical ******.

Considering that that is a normal human function and not related to
astronomy or this discussion, its a pointless observation.

As you said, you claim not to know anything about the person, yet you

Wasted bandwith..LOL. That is soooooo last century.

pb

I think that died with the Enron "bandwidth market" scheme. What a scam!
