Ever use one of these (Sony ICF-PRO80)
I just got this. These came out several years ago and I wanted one but never
got the chance. They suffer from bad capacitors after several years but if they are replaced these are real performers. Of course there are probably better compacts out now but these are never the less neat radios and I thought it would be a nice addition to my collection and something I allways wanted and will use. Heres some pics for those that have never seen one: http://webpages.charter.net/brianehill/pro801.jpg http://webpages.charter.net/brianehill/pro802.jpg SPECS: Sony ICF-PRO80 PLL Synthesized Receiver: - Computer controlled tuning system - LW/MW/SW/FM/AIR/PSB/TV(VHF) band - 150KHz - 108MHz CONTINUOUS Frequency range - Shift to 105MHz - 208Mhz (with converter (included)) - 40 Memories locations, 8-way tuning mode - supports AM (wide & narrow), FM, Narrow FM, SSB - runs on 4xAA batteries or 6V AC adapter -- 73 and good DXing RX: R-5000, SP-600 JX-6, SX-28 Ant: 100' longwire, Evesdropper Dipole Brian's Radio Universe http://webpages.charter.net/brianehill/ |
