Reception on the 31 meter band is poor tonite on the east coast at 03:45 UTC

Got Radio Botswana AND John Lightning;

one ~ 300 miles away, the other ~6,000 ??

I'm having TV reception problems too, so it's not just SW, and it's not
manmade.
