Default Jump Second Clock

Back in the day, radio stations used to have wall clocks that the
second hand jumped each second instead of sweeping around the dial. I
remember my first shack had one too.

I'm a looking for a one now and wondering if anyone has a source for
this type of clock?

Thanks,

John

I have a similar Seth -Thomas clock like the large one offered there by
Benjamin Michael. I don't think Seth-Thomas makes them anymore like that.

My Seth-Thomas is visible in my shack photo available he

In my home we have three such clocks -- they are battery powered quartz and
the second hand jumps or ticks. They keep very good time.
Got them at Target.
Also try Wall-Mart and K-mart.

I get the impression that quartz-controlled "second jumpers" are
now far more commonplace than electric (?) "continuous motion"
movements. At least, out in these here parts anyway.

Almost all quartz movement clocks do this. Mine is a 12" MFJ UTC
Model 105-C, and has "jump seconds". I'm sure there are lots more. If
you search EBay for "24 hour clock" or "UTC clock", or the like, you'll
find lots of them.
