This got me to thinking on my ride back from town a bit ago about the
old Radio Moscow days when a Soviet leader died, and we'd hear dirge
music on the frequencies, announcing that a leader had died, even before
an announcement had been made.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Castro being preserved that is. I rather doubt
that he'd be put in with Lenin though.

Speaking of being preserved, how many are there? Seems like Lenin is, Mao is
as far as I know, and possibly Ho Chi Minh?

If Castro is dead, you will see Cuba revert back
to a Democratic Free State and the amount of
capitol investment which will POUR into Cuba will
be staggering.

Cuba will become the LARGEST resort island in
ALL of the Carribbean. BIGGER THAN LAS
VEGAS, BIGGER THAN THE BAHAMAS, BIGGER
THAN RIO DE JANERO.....

Cuba will become the resort centerpiece for all of the
Western Hemisphere, and anyone who gets in now
with an investment will be a multi-millionaire in VERY
short order.

It is evern rumored that Casino mogul Donald Trump
has 2 Billion in investment capital waiting for the re-opening of Cuba as a
democracy and resort destination. In 5 Years he will TRIPLE that
investment.....just watch.....

Obviously, you've never been to Cuba or talked to any real Cubans
other than Miami gusanos.

The revolution will outlive Castro.

Sure, why not? The Soviet Union only got tougher after Lenin.

Oh I am afraid that I disagree. : )

See: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=CUBA&t=5y

Look at how that graph as gone up since March of 2003!
There's an old saying: "Follow the Money".

Someone knows something out there, else why would there
be Billion$ in Investment Capital flowing into various funds
directly connected with Cuban market re-entry capitalization..?
(look at that graph again.....)

No, I strongly feel that when Castro finally does keel over
you will see almost as much money flowing into Cuba as
there was into China for the past few Years. (It's NOT
about politics...it's about BUSINESS!)

It it's true, we now have a good reason for liberating a country but
thanks to GW we can't afford it.

Obviously you don't know anything about the history of Cuba. During the
reign (is that the right word?) of Fulgencio Bautista, who was the
USA-approved dictator, Cuba was one big playground for rich gringos.
Havana had huge casinos, and every well bred family from the du Ponts to
the Rockefellers to the Vanderbilts had a coastal mansion. When Castro
and Guevara marched out of the hills and overthrew Bautista, the locals
supported him because they wanted to toss out the Yanquis. From then on
American politicians and their rich patrons (see above) have had it in
for Cuba. Why doesn't the embargo end, long after the end of Communism
as a viable political threat? Because the Rockefellers et al are still
****ed at having their villas confiscated 45 years ago.

to a Democratic Free State

??? Revert back? When was it ever a "Democratic Free State" in the past?
Batista, e.g., was a dictator. And, under him, there were only two classes of
people then, too.

If it weren't for the US boycott, Cuba would be in great shape today. But
Castro broke up the playground for the rich. Naughty, naughty.

I dunno. I think Cuba would still be a mess, thanks to Fidel.
Regardless of the US embargo, Cuba still has other trading partners. It
just doesn't have much to trade with.

Why do they call Radio "Wireless", between my shack and antennas
I must have over 1500 feet of wire!

It just doesn't have much to trade with.

Sugar and, I believe, aluminum. If I recall correctly, the latter is controlled
by a French outfit, which has a lot of mining interests around the world.

Oh, and a few people who also lost out when Batista was run out. Some call
these people dissidents. G In exchange, Castro gets some peace.
