Thanks for the location.
I'm in east Tennessee and 9990 was
full of noise, Cairo barely audible.
Only using a reel antenna on a
Sony 7600GR

I'm running a little Icom 718 w/DSP and a MFJ-969 roller inductor tuner and
a 160 meter dipole ...about 260 feet long.

R. Cairo has generally sucked big time for a number
of years. In the old days you could depend on a nice
clean well-modulated signal on 9.475, but that was a
long, long time ago.
