Just what I wanted to know. No wonder them people are wanting to run us off the list. I'm listening to four at the store from the BBC1 on the computer http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/comedy/ It only got down to 48 last night and the sun is coming under a cloud cover and we may get rain. Steve, thank you for drawing attention to this epic battle. The British
decided to send a force of 5,000 men to subdue the primitive natives, but underestimated the fact that the Zulu's were a powerful nation in Southern Africa and had a highly disciplined army well lead by clever generals. The re-enactment of this epic battle is now occurring 125 years after the historic defeat of the British, by a force of Zulu impi's armed only with spears and shields. The British had modern rifles, canon,s and rockets, but they were out generaled and slaughtered. The story of this great battle, where more Victoria Crosses than ever before were awarded for bravery, is told on a set of five CD's by master storyteller David Rattray. David is a master storyteller, and his account of this epic battle is spellbinding.
