Default Has Anyone cracked the digital Radio software for Digital Radio Mondial? (DRM)

The protocol is public. There is code (under GPL license) available at:
http://drm.sourceforge.net/

The only catch with the above is that they only provide the source. It would
take hours and hours to put together the development environment, compile
the libraries, and compile the executable. I know because I tried - and
failed. I had the necessary Visual Studio environment, but they also assume
that you own another third party tool called Trolltech QT 2.x which is not
free.

QT is free (as in GPL) for all OSs except windows. Very nice toolkit.

Web site's at: http://www.trolltech.com/

Thanks for the clarification; but since I use a Windows environment, it's
not free for me.

But, now I am wondering if it would be possible (and legal) for another user
to process the QT files and post the intermediate files? Does that make
sense?

Actually, there's a totally free, compiled version for Windows
available. It can be downloaded from:

http://home.t-online.de/home/sat-ser...at/DRM/DRM.htm

Look for "compiled DREAM software". Please be aware that the DREAM
software is no where near as good at decoding DRM as the Merlin (paid)
software is. However, with a strong station, it does give you some
idea of what DRM is capable of. I myself paid the 60 Euros for the
Merlin software and I think that it's worth every penny.

And the WinRadio software is even better than Merlin's (same
performance as it is based on the same engine, but better user
rinterface with added recording functions):
