(7) Ability to go "mono" on FM to get the weaklings
This is unrelated to shortwave, technically... but since someone
brought it up, sort of... I'm looking for a radio of about the same
(pocket but a little bigger ok) sized radio that does really well with
FM. My favorite AM portable (sony icf-sw100) uses a whip for fm. i
normally have it tucked away in a pocket or backpack and deploying the
aerial when i switch to fm is unfeasible, not to mention unforgivably
nerdy. i know that some pocket radios use the headphone wire itself as
the aerial. does anyone favor a pocket fm radio for semi-fringe-area
reception, say commercial stations within about 30-40 mi? I may be
asking too much for a small radio, but you never know. just curious.
Thanks,

I have never found a pocket portable that pulls the AM/MW stations
like the DT-200V.
The only things I don't like about it...wish the bottom was flat, not
rounded, so it would stand up easier. Also wish it had a momentary
back light for the display.
I agree $60 is pushing the value envelope. I think I got mine
somewhere on the internet for like $45 and when they closed them out
at Radio Shack for $30. I got two in use and one in reserve for when
(if) one of them craps out.
