S-350 Mods
 

Anybody got any mods to unblock cellular on this radio?

Is there more than one S-350? The S-350 I know of only does short wave...

Errrm... This is not a "microprocessor controls PLL" radio, it's just
plain analog with some freq counter circuitry. Thus, there is nothing to
"unblock". Apart from that, the S-350/BCL2000 only receives MW, SW and
the FM broadcast band, all of which are far away from any cell phone
bands (which IIRC are around 400 and 800 MHz). Even if it could tune in
there, I rather doubt AM or wide FM would be the right types of
modulation to receive the digital cell phone signals. In short, the
S-350 is not a scanner, just a radio.

My post was a joke. Nearly half the posts in the scanner newsgroups seem to
be about unblocking radios. So I thought I'd just throw in that post over
here and maybe get some fun started. Yes, I know the S-350 can't be modified
for cell. But I do think the Tecsun BCL-2000 already comes unblocked,
especially the red ones.

No Mods Required.

The design of the Grundig S350 allows for all sorts of out-of-band
images. Just place your Celphone next to a Tecsun BCL-2000 and
find out for yourself.
