Advice wtd - Kenwood R2000 and VC-10 VHF adapter

Just acquired an R2000 with the VC-10 VHF adapter but without the manual for
the VC-10. I don't see any switch to turn the VC-10 on or off so I assume
there is an offset that means the 1-30KC tuning equates to ??? to ??? up in
the VHF bands. Can anyone fill me in about what the offset is.

thanks
Chris

Up 29 MHz you are on the VHF band: 118-174 MHz;
you should read the exact VHF frequency (i.e. 118.50 MHz).

Chris,

I have a Kenwood R-2000 w/VC-10. Once the VC-10 module is
installed and plugged-in, all you need to do is push the band
switch until it goes past 30 MHz. It will jump to 118 MHz. You can
memorize these new frequencies just as you would for SW channels.

I have the service manuals and schematics for the radio and the
VC-10.

I use my R-2000/VC-10 as a backup to my Kachina 505DSP
transceiver. I have a fully unlocked version and I mostly use it
for experimental work (FCC exp. license) and for ham radio stuff.
It is also my main SW receiver.

Enjoy ;-)
