Too bad,
He was a true voice of sanity, wit & reason
Used to see him on " Omnibus" sunday afternoons.
A remarkable guy

I followed his broadcasts in three continents on the BBC world service;
really sorry to see him retire. He sure is a unique voice of insight and
culture; no one can take his place.

I heard his recent 'Letter from America'. He's been doing it for more
than fifty years. At the age of '95' he is still more lucid and informed
than most people half his age.
