SONY ICF-SW100/ Help with repair

Hi,

my sw100 is malfunctioning. It powers up ( standby mode ) allows Time
setting, Sleep and Timer functions, but when pushing ON/OFF button it
goes straight to "LW" in display and does not respond to any inputs.
Switches back to standby mode after a few seconds.

Anybody out there willing and able to repair?

Will pay, of course, or trade for radio (s).
Have schematic.

Thanks, Pete

FYI, these are the symptoms of the common ribbon cable fault on this
model. Should occur particularly on pre-1997 models.

Contact me for names of very good and reputable SW100 repair persons. If the hinge of your receiver is solid along its length, your problem is the cable ribbon Cost wold be about $40 for parts plys labor. If the hinge has a notch in it from above the 2 button to above the 3 button, your problem is not the cable ribbon but rather a metallic dome misalignment under the ON/OFF button. If so, repair costs would be for time only since no parts would be involved.
