It would be quite an experience to watch the earht flip over wouldn't it
though s ? To be standing under a cloudless night sky in a desert watching
the milky way and suddenly see everything change in the blink of an eye
would be awe inspiring to say the least !

The north magnetic pole has always been moving (and I assume the south mag pole
has, too). See:

Oh, and the Sun's magnetic poles switch places at the peak of each sunspot
cycle.
