Degen's website-in English!

http://www.degen.com.cn/english/index_e.html

They make a lot of SW capable radios and a few Walkman style radios. I
noticed that my Degen 1102's box had the website www.degen.com.cn on it.
If you go there you will be asked to download Chinese text support, and
if you don't it will be a lot of weird looking characters. But they have
a little English on their website, just an "About Us" blurb and a short
listing of the products they make (19 radios in all). They're located in
the Shenzhen special economic zone. Shenzhen is a city just over the
border from Hong Kong that by Chinese govt decree operates economically
differently from the rest of China in order to take advantage of
dealings with Western capitalists. (And to think Radio Peking called us
"running dogs"! Heh! :) ) It must be a very drab and boring place-even
the address sounds industrial.

I have their site bookmarked he
http://www.degen.com.cn/english/index_e.html. The "Products" link shows a
good selection of their wares, with their descriptions listed in excellent
English. I have not had to download Chinese fonts or text support using
Windows XP when I've visited their website.

It's nice that they even have English section, but you'll find that the
Degen and Tecsun web sites omit the 'latest and greatest' models for quite
a while, so you have to go to the Chinese pages if you want to see the
photos.
