Help with longwave logs
 
I know this is a shortwave group but can anyone help me id these
recent logs from Feb. 23-24, 2004 all at around 0054-0100 UTC during
my recent visit to Madrid.

475kHz French px (poor) 0054 UTC

460kHz Spanish (RTVE, I think, but poor)

433kHz Unknown language (poor)

421kHz Beacon

415kHz Beacon

253kHz French (fair reception) Morrocco or Algeria

235kHz French (fair reception)

207kHz Arabic (fair)

185kHz French (very strong)

162kHz just mx sounded like Greek fade in and out

198kHz BBC

Thanks Ruud.

I was using a small Sangean 606A portable that I carry around whenever
I travel
abroad. This could explain the two images I was picking up. I had
actually never tuned any longwave before in Europe so I was suprise
how active the bands are there. Now I know why I saw so many portable
radios and stereos with longwave bands sold in Europe. Here in the
Caribbean, our medium wave band is full of stations from the other
islands and the northern part of South America and Brazil.

Yes, there are many longwave stations heard here in the UK although many car
radios now do not include the band.
