anyone have a good replacement antenna for the yaesu vr-500 handheld?

Any telescoping and/or the Austin Condor work well for me.

The Radio Shack 20-006 center-loaded telescopic whip is good for general
coverage (as long as you're not doing any serious HF work). Put an alligator clip on the end of a piece of wire and clip it to the end of the whip for HF (you may need to experiment with the length...too long will overload the receiver, resulting in nothing but noise). The Diamond RH-77CA is a nice rubber ducky (longer than the stock ducky) for good VHF/UHF coverage. - Doug "jack" wrote in message news:XGiec.112700$gA5.1455667@attbi_s03... anyone have a good replacement antenna for the yaesu vr-500 handheld? thanks jack |
