I don't think he is hiding anything. I don't see any bidding going on so far or was that a tounge-in-cheek comment. |

A wealthy ham who really wants a SX-115? An investor who thinks the radio will be more valuable in the future? My older copy of "Radios by Hallicrafters" has the SX-115 going from $385 to $495. AADE's Hampedia has the SX-115 going from $750 to $3050. It seems the price has rocketed over the last few years. http://www.aade.com/hampedia/prices2.htm AND the seller carefully hides the fact that it is a limited freq receiver and NOT full frequency There's no deception in not describing the radio's band coverage. The SX-115 is a well known radio. Anybody who's spend that kind of money without even a basic idea of what they're buying is a fool. Frank Dresser |

He probably paid the local ham a hundred bucks for it. He might get 20% of the opening bid for it; all he needs is one fool with more money than sense. My back aches just thinking about hefting that thing. "PM" |

This is a high quality ham band receiver but the price is a bit too high for my taste, but to a Hallicrafters collector maybe not. |
