I didn't either, immediately upon tuning that freq. You have to sit on it for
a bit. What I heard was (presumably) air-traffic control every now and then -
not constant broadcasting.

That's correct, they are not constantly transmitting.

I gotta get a bigger one, antenna that is. OK, I am now on a mission to hear
DiegoGarcia even if it costs me more than a trip there. I have about 150' of
wire in a [ shape around the back yard. Maybe I can run a span up to the top
of the
roof or something.

OK Where are you at, please don't say Dallas area! I am thinking that I just
south enough to be missing the signal. I sat on that frequency for over 1.5
hours with nothing but static, I did hear static get louder and softter but
basically nothing.
