Back in '72, I was a non-voting (not yet old enough) Democrat.. but even I
would have voted for anyone BUT McGovern for one reason and one reason
alone.. he had no guts. And I don't mean Vietnam, either. I'm talking about
dumping Eagleton just because he had been under a shrink's care many years
earlier. And I think that's probably one of the bigger reasons that he
lost. If he had had the guts to keep his original running mate, rather than
to let the opposition make up his mind for him, he may have had a better
chance. I think it's called "integrity"..
