That sounds spooky. I agree that it is probably an auto tone devise gone
spastic.

Though... I remember an episode of the 1970's science fiction TV series
Battlestar Galactica. Thye episode was called "War Of The Gods". A race
of angelic beings zipped around space in balls of light that sounded very
much like what I'm hearing now... LOL.

I'm getting it on the R8 now, I just needed to do more digging! CW
mode, 2.3 filter sounds the best. The sideband sync on the 800
really helps with this.

I just went out on the back porch and heard it on the Degen 1102 and
the YB400. Neither showed any signal on their respective "meters",
but the sound easily heard. Although, if I hadn't known it was
there I never would have found it on either one.

Also, I managed to record a few minutes of it for posterity!
