Military Radios Jam Garage Door Opener Remotes

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE - A new military two-way radio system is keeping garage
doors shut in communities near this [Florida] Panhandle base, and residents
might have to change the frequencies on their remote-controlled opening
devices to make them work.

Homeowners in Niceville, Valparaiso and the Crestview area reported jammed
garage door openers during recent testing of the $5.5 million system at
Eglin.

Air Force officials said Tuesday that the contractor, Motorola, will try to
minimize the problem, but they offered no guarantees.

Technicians will run the system at slightly different frequencies in another
test this weekend.

The problem might spread to residents near other military bases. A similar
system has been requested for Pensacola Naval Air Station.

Wow! That sure is witty!!!!!!

Did you just "think" that up?

It must be wonderful to have such an incredible sense of humor.

Is it just intelligence or would you like to give credit for
anyone else that is responsible for your incredible gift of humor
and enlightenment?

Golly, your wit and wisdom makes the rest of us so in awe of you.

Wit, wisdom and orginality, what a wonderful combination.

An oxymoron!

My thoughts exactly.

I'm always reminded of the Monty Python sketch for the kamikazee Scotsman:
"who wants to volunteer to do something really f---ing stupid?"

and Frank Zappa quotes:
"Fighting for peace is like f---ing for chastity."
"Dictators get the best uniforms!"

Military is right up there with politics as the more expensive forms of
entertainment ever invented. (I don't recall who said this one.)

Military and Intelligence, shouldn't ever appear in the same sentence.
