International Airports Listing / Databases ? And, Why USB For Cairo, Egypt Airport ?

Hello:

Read on one of the forums a little while back that the poster picked up
transmissions from the
control tower at Cairo, Egypt airport on 11.300 MHz USB. Quite a catch.

Was wondering if anyone knows of a link / database that lists frequencies
used at
international airports in one place, rather than having to go to each link
individually for an individual airport ?
Couldn't find any after doing a Google search.

Also, surprised Cairo, Egypt uses USB; thought all non-military comms is AM
?
Anyone have an explanation for ?

Thanks,
Bob

Yes. VHF short-range airport comms are in AM. Longrange HF airport-to-plane and
wx comms are in USB.

One requires a scanner, the other a shortwave receiver.
