( OT ) A terrible sense of dread filtering across America
There's a terrible sense of dread filtering across America at the moment
and it's not simply because of the continuing fear of terrorism and the fact that the nation is at war. It's more frightening than that. It grows out of the suspicion that we all may be passengers in a vehicle that has made a radically wrong turn and is barreling along a dark road, with its headlights off with someone behind the wheel who may not know how to drive. |

(if so, it sounds like an old Ford station wagon I had when I was 18... ) I used to have a smoking Vega. Bad valve seats. It was fine when you went down the road but if you stop at a light and take off it would smoke like a *******. I used to always say " With a mighty rev of the engine and a puff of smoke! Hi Ho Vega!!!" Then take off leaving everyone in the four way intersections blinded and gaging from smoke. The whole car load off us kids would be laughing like hell :)) -- 73 and good DXing. "speach" is the way you might incorrectly spell "speech" when you're in a
hurry to post an item so that you can into the bathroom and take a badly needed ****. All clear now ? "Brian Denley" wrote in message news:nqysc.111584$iF6.10195799@attbi_s02... I'm always looking for additions to my collection of "Biased Websites Written by Those Who Have No Clue About Their Topic." It's amazing the number of people that have gotten through the educational system in this country yet don't understand the Electoral College or the fact that deadlines for counting votes are there for a reason. |

(snipped for brevity) A judicial republic has replaced the constitutional republic. That's the system totalitarian states use. See Stalin and Mao. Point of fact: Some of the Supreme court judges have a conflict of interest. =========================== Q: That's completely bizarre! That sounds like rank political favoritism! Did the justices have any financial interest in the case? A: Scalia's two sons are both lawyers working for Bush. Thomas's wife is collecting applications for people who want to work in the Bush administration. Q: Why didn't they recuse themselves? A: If either had recused himself, the vote would be 4-4, and the Florida Supreme Court decision allowing recounts would have been affirmed. http://www.iknowwhatyoudidlastelecti...reme-court.htm ====================================== |
RHF wrote: The Facts Do Not Lie ! - Class Dismissed ~ RHF . . RHF, if you are going to use condescending expressions like "Class Dismissed," at least learn the correct names of the things you're lecturing about. There's no such thing as the "Electorial College." Also, it you're going to use hoity-toityisms like "per se" learn to spell them correctly. "Per Say" is gibberish. By the way, is there any logic the words you choose to capitalize? I think at one time it was customary or at least acceptable to capitalize nouns, but you seem to capitalize nouns, verbs, adverbs more or less at random. Oz |

Bush with his finger on the button is a pretty scary
thought in a world where things might suddenly not be going in the U.S.'s favour. From what I've undestood Pete, I could be wrong.
