Not one of their examples applies to spying for the secret police.
By equating these more or less common sense actions to 'homeland
security' they try to make the undefendable more palatable
They're all non-applicable as far as using civilians to spy on each
other is concerned.

This is an old attempt at distraction from the main argument.

It's like saying:

"If you don't believe in God, you worship the devil"
or
"Childless couples are unnatural perverts"
or
"Jews sell atomic secrets to the highest bidder"

By your reasoning, wee should be keeping a very close eye on
atheists, childless couples and Jews.


There are non so blind as those who will not see..it looks to me as
though you've been brainwashed into thinking that spying on your
neighbours is a GOOD thing. Sad..

Believe it or not, the whole homeland security thing was what finally,
after all these years, caused me to break down and get an amateur
radio license. I live close enough to the Pentagon that I heard Flight
77 when it hit. Anytime I want to know where Ground Zero is, all I
have to do is look around me. This is it; here I am. The ability to
communicate without having to rely on the cellphone network [sic; I
know that's a meaningless concept] may make the difference life and
death. No kidding.

The dust from 9/11 coated our apartment , alwhough wer are miles and miles
away.
we now have cheap 2-way radios and an evacuation plan .

( Actually worked out well during the Blackout last summer)
