I thought I would check to see if the rec.amateur groups have all the
trash that this group has. to my surprise what I saw was: 1) useful on topic threads, NO off topic political BS 2) no attacks by steve Lare overall it was a pleasant visit. the message is: ALL YOU LOSERS THAT GO OFF TOPIC OR ATTACK OTHERS (this doesn't include this post) SHOULD GET LOST AND GO TO OTHER GROUPS. give this group back to the SWL/DXers. the message to Lare is: go to the amateur groups or would they blackball you because of all your **** ? |

If you simply listen to most US 'based' Shortwave Broadcast the majority of the Program Content, that you would HEAR would be "Religion & Politics". Do you not 'think' that a majority of individuals that would be interested in Shortwave Listening (SWLs) would also be motovated by Hearing and Talking (Writing) about "Religion & Politics". Are you attempting to 'limit' what we can 'Discuss" with respect to what we "Hear" on the Shortwave Radio Broadcasts ? But what if you're NOT a radio 'amateur'? There's nothing I could post in there that I know of, they'd tell me to post shortwave in RRS, as I should. I KNOW enough 'amateurs' that it has literally made me NOT want to get involved. I know that may sound childish of me, but that is 'really' how I feel. I have been pressured and ridiculed about not getting my 'ticket' for years from some guys that I know more about radio and antenna theory than THEY do and two of them 'cheated' to get their 'ticket.' You're right, I am being harsh on a guy who's under such pressure. Him being "the only one fighting for decency in a mad world" and all... I should let up. Plus, as you warn, he may narc me out. But it is nice to actually have a Captain in the group; he can finally marry off some of the long-time trashers who have been hellbent on getting it on with each other the whole time anyway... and a little romance might be good for the group.
