FS Drake SW-8

OK I goofed..It is a SW-8. I was half asleep when I stuck it on this morning. I
still have it for sale. I am asking 450.00 for it. It is the one with the
telescope whip antenna..It will run off 6 D cell batteries and a wall wart and
120v..

That means it was made in 1995 and doesn't have the selectable sideband
sync' detector, only double sideband. This makes your SW8 less desirable
than later versions starting with #6 or higher, which typically sell for
about what you're asking for yours. You're certainly free to ask $450
for it but $350 is closer to the going price for a pre-1996 SW8.

$350 is what it is worth, not the going price. people on ebay don't
know the difference and still pay $500 for the older useless ones.

I cringe when I see that happen, without the selectable sync, the SW-8
is just another ordinary receiver.

thanks for all the info guys. I was not aware of the updates on the radio after
95. I will have to change the price for it.. I got it on a trade for someother
radios and just don't need another reciever around with all the old boat
anchors I have in the shack....

Thanks Randy
