New to the shortwave bands

I'm relatively new to the shortwave bands and i've just pulled my Sony
ICF-SW55 shortwave receiver out of the loft after about 5 years. Had it
years before that but never got into it.

I'm wondering if anyone has any good frequencies or can tell me the best
places to search. I've found aircraft on 5598 and amateur on 40 meters
(7090) so i'm not doing so bad (And I mad my own aerial / dipole).

Regards,

Neal

Sounds like you need "Broadcasts in English" from the BDXC.

That's excellent thanks very much.

Another question I wouldn't mind an aerial on the roof but what type of
aerial would I need for the shortwave bands?

At the moment, my home made aerial clips onto the telescopic antenna on the
radio (The original did the same) so i'm wondering on the coax also.
