Sony SW55 is a no-go

Maybe someone with one of these has had this happen? Hoping to find a
fix before I have to send it back to Sony.

My SW55 will not power up. Clock comes "on" and blinks 0:00 but nothing
else. Unit was working fine. reset button no workee.

I am grateful for any ideas.

thanks

Have you tried replacing the batteries for the frequency determining (and
computer part)?

Check the keylock isn't on, if it is there will be a small key symbol at the
top of the display. Also if the batteries are nearly dead the clock appears but
nothing else fires up. Check it on mains.

If it is completely goosed I'm selling one on ebay just now, might be cheaper
than getting Sony to look at it.

Good luck!

I have simply used a set of newly charged AA's. Is there another
onboard battery, like a lithium one somewhere in the guts of the radio?

thanks for the reply and suggestion.
